"I
recently signed up, and paid my fee. Of course, I immediately
felt that I had probably made a mistake, and was throwing my
money away. Well, it's been a couple of weeks now, and I've waded
through most of the sites, and set up accounts at over 50 of
them. I figured, even if they only contact me once a month, if
that turns out to be $10 for each one, times 50 sites, that's
$500. I'll take it!
Well, about a week after I signed up, I got a phone call to come
in for a focus group here in Chicago. It was on Male TV viewing
habits, and specifically, history and documentary style programming.
It was so easy. I took the el train right by my house out to
the business by O'Hare, and it paid $125 plus food and soda for
two hours of talking about what I liked on TV. So, already, I've
paid for the membership four times over.
That's all it takes. Now this may not be typical, and I'd say
making closer to $50 for a focus group is the normal, but even
that would've more than paid for my membership. I know that a
lot of the online surveys pay less, but add up a couple a month,
even at $5 to $10 each, times 50 site, and that's hundreds of
extra dollars a month.
There were SO many sites that I'd NEVER heard of. Now I'm registered
everywhere."
