1.
Why will companies pay me to fill out surveys or participate
in focus groups?
Companies need your input in order to be successful. They need
to know what everyday people want in their products, what they
prefer, and what will prompt them to buy the products and services
the company offers. This is called market research. By providing
companies with this information, you are providing them with
a valuable service. It gives them an edge on the competition
and aids them in the success of their products and services.
2. What kinds of
questions will I be asked?
You will be asked a variety of questions, from where you prefer
to shop to what kind of toothpaste you prefer to use. You’ll
be asked about products that you try and products that you buy
regularly. The idea of the questions is to get valuable information
on how the company should market their products, so the questions
will revolve around that concept.
3. What is a focus
group?
A focus group is made up of a group of individuals that have
been selected by the company sponsoring the research or the research
company hosting the group to discuss a given topic. The topic
will relate to the company that is holding the focus group. You
may or may not know what the point of the focus group is, or
which company it’s being held for. You’re just there
to share your opinions and discuss them with others in the group.
These sessions can be held online or in a research center. Focus
groups can take a few hours, but they can pay over $100 per hour,
so it’s well worth your time.
4. How many surveys
can I take?
There is no limit to the number of surveys you can take or the
number of focus groups you can participate in. The more research
companies you register with, the more surveys you will complete
and the more focus groups you will be invited to participate
in.
5. How long are
the surveys?
Surveys can be as short as 10 questions and as many as over 50.
6. How long are the focus groups?
Focus groups can last from half an hour to a full day, or even
multiple days.
7. How much money can I make?
The amount of money you make will depend on the amount of time
you spend registering with research companies and filling out
surveys or participating in focus groups.
8. Do I need to
fit a certain profile?
You do not need to fit a certain profile to sign up with most
research companies. However, to be chosen for a specific survey
or focus group, you will need to meet the requirements of that
study. You will be chosen for the studies and focus groups that
match your profile.
9. Can anyone do this?
If you are over the age of 18, you can do this. No matter where
in the world you live, you will be eligible to participate in
surveys.
10. Will I get paid
per survey or per hour?
Whether you get paid by the survey or by the hour will depend
on the company that you are completing the survey for or participating
in the focus group with. In addition to cash, focus groups pay
with cash, discounts, drawing entries, products or prizes.
11. Do I have to
pay taxes?
If you live inside the United States, you will need to pay taxes
appropriate to your income-tax bracket. You will be treated as
an independent contractor and taxes will not be withheld from
your checks. You will be responsible for filing at the end of
each year.
12. Who will pay
me?
The research company holding the survey or focus group will pay
you.
13. Are you a survey
company?
No, we are not a research or survey company. We are a membership
community that provides our members with access to the research
companies looking for assistance.
14. What’s
the difference between your site and other membership sites?
While many companies just upload outdated lists of research and
survey opportunities, we actually research and look for the best
opportunities available for our members. We want our members
to be successful and financially independent. If we can help
our members achieve financial success, they will refer their
friends to us. We count on this word of mouth advertising for
our continued success and growth.
15. How often is
your database updated?
We update our database every time a new opportunity becomes available.
16. How soon can
I start earning money?
How soon you start earning money will depend on how many research
companies you register with. Some people begin earning money
the same day the become members, others wait a few weeks. It
will depend on your individual needs and circumstances.
17. Why can’t
you take my membership fee out of the money I’ll be earning?
We would, but we can’t. We won’t be the ones paying
you. The research companies pay you directly so there is no way
for us to deduct the cost of your membership from your earnings.
